We are pleased to announce we have an immediate opening for a team and service oriented individual to fill a Guest Services Supervisor role with Calgary Tower.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Guest Services Supervisor will oversee the daily activities of the Guest Services team and day-to-day operations of the Calgary Tower under the leadership and supervision of the Manager, Guest Services.  This position has a focus on retail operations, and consists of full-time hours, including evenings and weekends.

This position is supervised by the Calgary Tower Management Team. This position will be scheduled to work full time hours that include days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Only candidates with 7-days-a-week flexibility will be considered.

KEY DUTIES

  • Supervise the daily activities of the guest services team including cash management, customer service and internal communications 

  • Assist with retail operation by performing tasks including merchandising, receiving product, maintaining clean and tidy storage rooms, inventory management, and more

  • Manage, coach, motivate and enhance skills of Guest Services Representatives

  • Act as liaison between visitors, staff and management reporting on operational issues, business development opportunities, trouble shooting and responding to non-routine customer inquiries

  • Coordinate daily operation and maintenance of the POS Systems and Cr terminals 

  • Manage staff orientation, training and performance management

  • Champion team-building initiatives

  • Coordinate crowd control procedures to direct guests in a safe and courteous manner.

  • Coordinate special deliveries, hours of operation changes, seasonal decorations, etc. 

  • Assist with planning and execution of special events as required

  • Attend departmental meetings

  • Other duties as required

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Post-secondary education required

  • 2-4 years supervisory experience in a customer service setting 

  • 2-4 years retail experience including:  purchasing, receiving, merchandising, pricing, promotion, loss prevention and inventory control

  • Tourism experience an asset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite in particular)

  • Superior customer service and teamwork skills

  • Maturity, flexibility, integrity, punctuality, and professionalism 

  • A courteous, personable, and engaging attitude

  • The ability to take initiative and multi-task

  • City of Calgary Police Information Check/Criminal Record Check
